Eurovision 2025 is only a couple of months away, and the final song of the season has been revealed. 28-year-old singer-songwriter and actress Louane will represent France at the contest in May with “Maman,” a ballad focused on the theme of motherhood. Louane, whose parents are both deceased, is the mother of a young daughter.

The song, written by Louane and Tristan Salvati, was performed live for the first time on Saturday during the final of the Six Nations [rugby] Championship in Paris.

An established artist in her native France, Louane (born Anne Edwige Maria Peichert) has released five albums – the latest being 2024’s “Solo.” She brings previous competition experience to Basel, having participated in “The Voice – La plus belle voix” in 2013.

37 songs will compete to win the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland from May 13 – May 17 2025. France has won the contest five times, with its last win in 1977. The country’s more recent successes include Barbara Pravi’s “Voilà,” which placed second in 2021, and “Mon Amour” by Slimane, which placed fourth in the 2024 contest.
