Denmark: 8 hopeful acts have now been revealed

We’re less than a month from Denmark finally holding their national final, the rumors have been swirling for months, but as of today, we can finally say the exact names of the upcoming edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025 – Participants

As is tradition in the Nordic countries, a national final is held in order to decide who will represent the country in this years contest. Danish national broadcaster (DR) has for 2025 decided to once again keep their formula from previous years. This means that 8 acts will compete and 3 of them will advance to the superfinal, which is where the winner will be decided.

The 2025 edition will pretty much remain the same as the 2024 edition. In the week leading up to the Danish final, people can already vote through the official app, then again on the day of the final during the live show. These results will then be combined with both a local and an international jury, and together they’ll decide the top 3 to advance to the second round. The second round will then use the same voting groups in order to decide the winner and the next Danish representative at the contest.

With all that said, these are the 8 names competing for Danish glory(Running order):

1. Mariya – “I Belong To Me“
2. Tim Schou – “Proud“
3. Max Ulver – “Supernova“
4. Hervé Toure – “Allez Allez“
5. Maria Mathea – “Air“
6. Adel The Second – “The Unluckiest Boy Alive“
7. Sissal – “Hallucination“
8. Andreas Kruse – “Hear My Prayer“

To long time fans, they might recognize the name Tim Schou who represented Denmark in Düsseldorf as a part of the band A Friend In London, whom brought Denmark a 5th place finish with the song “New Tomorrow”

This year’s Danish final will be held in Herning on the 1st of March. Here the 8 acts will compete for the Danish ticket to Basel. The winner will then represent Denmark in the second semi-final, to be held on the 15th of May 2025
