Silia Kapsis releases Liar

Cyprus is gearing up for another dazzling performance on the Eurovision stage, and this year, they’re bringing forth the 16 year old Silia Kapsis.

And today, CyBC has officially released her entry for Eurovision 2024 “Liar”, which can be watched below:

The song is written by Dimitiris Kontopoulos and Elke Tiel, and it’s music video was filmed in Cyprus at the City of Dreams Mediterranean casino and at the Limassol Marina. All choreography for the music video was done by LA based choreographers Guy Groove and Kelly Sweeny, who are also working with her to create the live performance in Malmö.

Along with the music video, the Cypriot broadcaster unveiled further details about the meaning behind the song and the music video. The song’s title “doesn’t necessarily confine its meaning to a person but also represents a number of fake situations that today’s often artificial and superficial reality has sadly imposed.”

Through the music video CyBC states that they want to showcase the “oppressive situations that a fake world and the negative side of social media can impose”, while also showing Silia reacting to these situations and rocking the boat to live her own truth.

Silia Kapsis is set to perform in the first half of the first semi-final on May 7th with her song “Liar”.
