RTSH has recently disclosed the details behind determining the winner of the upcoming and highly anticipated Festivali i Këngës 62. Bojken Lako, who is the festival’s artistic director, has revealed that the competition’s winner will be decided through a balanced combination of jury and public participation. Specifically, it will rely on a 50% jury voting and 50% public voting.
The festival will feature a total of 27 competitors; 13 established artists and 14 newcomers will compete for the prestigious title. The different talents are bound to make the event even more thrilling, boosting the excitement for the festival.
This marks the second year of integrating public voting into Festivali i Këngës. Last year, the Albanian representative for Eurovision was chosen solely through public voting, while the overall festival winner was determined by the jury. We still have no word on whether Festivali i Këngës will serve as Albania’s Eurovision selection for the 2024 edition of the contest.
The submission period for Festivali i Këngës 62 concludes tomorrow, with the festival anticipated in December this year.
