Suspilne Broadcaster has confirmed its support towards Ruslana’s performance on the stage of Liverpool this year. This announcement comes after Ruslana made a post on social media where she stated that she did not receive an offer to perform during the semi-finals or grand final.
Speaking on the matter Suspilne stated that:
“Ruslana, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, was included in the program of the competition. We know for sure that the singer and her team know about these plans, and what’s more, they have already made the necessary preparations.
For today, we can only emphasize that Ruslana will perform in a number of formats that will take place before and during the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, in particular in the final of the contest. As far as we know, the BBC intends to include Ruslana in the Eurovision 2023 final.”
Earlier this month the EBU along with the BBC confirmed participation of the number of Ukrainian artists that included 2022 winner Kalush Orchestra and 2016 winner Jamala. As Ruslana was the first Eurovision winner for Ukraine she was highly expected to appear, but was not originally confirmed.
As of this moment, neither BBC nor EBU provided any information about Ruslana’s appearance in the actual contest.
