According to a report from local outlet Kleinezeitung, Austria’s search for a Eurovision entry has narrowed down to two names: ANGER and DJ Lum!x.

ANGER is a project from indie pop duo Nora Pider and Julian Angerer, Austro-Italian musicians who have been in a relationship for the last ten years. The pair currently reside in Vienna. Their potential Eurovision song is titled “Das Meer” or “The Sea”.

Lum!x is an up and coming electronica artist. His 2019 collaboration with Gabry Ponte of Eiffel 65 fame. “Monster”, has over a billion streams on Spotify. His potential Eurovision track is titled “Halo”.

Broadcaster ORF is expected to announce its decision next week. Stay tuned, and we’ll let you know as soon as the announcement is made!

Austria has had a rough go at Eurovision in recent years. Other than Cesár Sampson‘s 3rd place finish at the 2018 contest, the country’s best result since winning in 2014 is a 13th place finish in 2016. Austria did not qualify for the final at the last two contests. Vincent Bueno‘s “Amen” finished 12th in the 2021 contest’s second semi-final.

Are #YOU familiar with either of these acts? Do think either of them has what it takes to get Austria back into the Grand Final? Sound off in the comments below, in our forum, or on social media @ESCUnited.
