What’s Another Deer: Is Johnny Logan Participating in The Masked Singer Belgium?

The Masked Singer Belgium has started its second season, and Eurovision fans are convinced that Johnny Logan is taking part.

Last Friday, the first episode of the new season of the immensely popular TV show The Masked Singer aired on Belgian tv channel VTM. In the show, celebrities, ranging from tennis players to politicians, put on an elaborate costume which disguises their real identity and try to win the title of best singer. Their identity is kept strictly secret and only revealed when a contestant either gets eliminated or wins the show. Eight masked singers competed through duels in last week’s episode, and one performance in particular caught Eurofans’ eye.

‘Edelhert’, dressed up as a red deer, gave a powerful performance of Rolling in the Deep by Adele. According to Eurofans and audiences at home, Edelhert sounds exactly like two-time Eurovision winner Johnny Logan. Even Eurovision 2010 participant Tom Dice joined in the conversation, immediately tweeting that Edelhert might indeed be the Irish Eurovision star.

Think Johnny Logan participating in a Belgian tv show is unrealistic? Think again, as last year, Eurovision 1986 winner Sandra Kim won the competition, and Logan’s participation might simply be a continuation of this track record of former Eurovision winners participating. Besides, anything is possible in The Masked Singer.
