Life continues to be a whirlwind for Austria’s latest star Conchita Wurst, and the interviews and press adoration show no signs of slowing down yet. So what has the Eurovision champion been up to recently?

Well, as you’d expect, every media outlet wants to interview the star and follow her next steps. She’s currently writing songs for her debut album which she explains to Entertainment Wise will include “up-tempo songs and ballads inspired by ‘mature voices’ such as Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner and Cher.” Some fans may also be relieved to hear that Conchita will not be taking part in the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK and still has her sights firmly on the Grammy Award. Will she follow in the footsteps of 1988 winner Céline Dion and achieve her dream?

“People are like, ‘Woah, what the hell is she thinking?’ But I need big goals

Conchita has also been announced as the headliner of another pride event, this time in Manchester. Alongside artists such as All Saints, Anastasia and Foxes, Conchita will take to the stage at the Manchester Pride Big Weekend festival over the August bank holiday weekend (29th-31st) in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Conchita and Gaultier on a sightseeing tour in Vienna

A few days ago she travelled to the Greek island of Mykonos where she joined the 2006 entrant Anna Vissi on stage. Tonight a performance in the popular Swedish festival Allsång på Skansen is planned.

As previously reported, Conchita also collaborated with the renowned fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier by taking part in his latest fashion show as a model. Last week the designer visited her in Vienna – accompanied by an ARTE television crew. They did a sightseeing tour for the documentary series “Through the Night with…” and even ended up eating sausages together.

Conchita has not yet announced when an album will be finally released, but you can be sure that it will be big news once it finally arrives amongst Eurovision fans!
