Following yesterday’s announcement that the BBC’s national final to select the United Kingdom’s Eurovision entry would be held on February 26th, Radio 2’s Ken Bruce has this morning confirmed that the six songs set to take part in the competition will be premiered on his show on February 22nd.
Ken Bruce will also be revealing the special guest performers for the competition on Friday 22nd January. The Radio 2 Eurovision commentator will reveal all on the same date.
The national final will be broadcast for the first time on the BBC’s arts and alternative television channel BBC Four and will be hosted by 2015 semi-final commentator and Great British Bake-Off host Mel Giedroyc. The show is being recorded in The O2 Kentish Town which will serve as one of the largest venues for a British national final in recent years.
No clues or hints on the participants have been given yet – time will tell if we hear anything before the week of the final!
