The national finals may have stopped and some of the news may have dried up (apart from the Russia-Ukraine situation!) but that doesn’t mean that Eurovision is on hold for the next few months! Tonight, the first preview party of this year’s contest will take place in Riga, Latvia, with performances from a number of Eurovision 2017 artists as well as some special guests.
The event, hosted by OGAE Latvia, was inaugurated in 2014 and has grown from strength to strength in each year since. Now in its fourth year, the preview party will be the first sign of things to come in Kiev and the first instance of Eurovision 2017 artists performing on the same stage together for the fans.
Roberto Meloni, the two-time participant for Latvia in 2007 and 2008 and Italian personality, will host the event tonight. Justs (Latvia 2016) and Ruslana (Ukraine’s first winner in 2004) will be special guests for the evening. Of the class of 2017, Triana Park (Latvia), Kasia Moś (Poland), Naviband (Belarus), Martina Bárta (Czech Republic) and JOWST (Norway) will all be performing their Eurovision entries for the fans.
