This year’s songs cover a variety of genres any styles from heartfealt ballads, alternative, rock, R&B, ethnic folk, rock n’ roll, and a variety of pop subgenres like indie pop, ethno pop, and electropop. As is tradition for the Serbian national final, all of the entries are written entirely in one of the official languages of Serbia.

The semi-finals for Pesma za Evroviziju 22 are set for March 3rd and 4th, with nine qualifiers being decided from each semi-final through an unknown combination of jury voting and public televote. The winner of the final on March 5th will be decided through a straight 50/50 voting split.

Serbia selected girlgroup Hurricane to represent them in 2020, and after the cancellation of the contest RTS internally selected them for the 2021 contest as well. Their song “Loco Loco” proved to be a fan favorite among Eurovision fans, catapulting it into the grand final in Rotterdam. Despite scoring low with the national juries, the girls came 9th in the televote and because of this finished in 15th place.
