Hoorn, 3 February 2022

As you remember,  S10 had been internally selected to represent The Netherlands in Turin all the way back in December. S10 is the stage name of Stien den Hollander, a 21 year old singer and rapper from Hoorn. She is considered an upcoming pop talent in the Netherlands. After months of waiting, the Netherlands have finally released their song! The Dutch songstress will bring “De diepte” in Turin!

It’s been quite the journey for the Dutch broadcaster (AVROTROS) the past years, after finally winning the contest in 2019, after a 44 year period of waiting, The Netherlands were set to finally host the beloved contest once again. Unfortunately, for the first time ever, that excitement was postponed with another year, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. When Eurovision finally got through in 2021, The Netherlands managed to host a wonderful show and even showed that it can be done under less-than-fortunate circumstances. Despite the challenges it proved to be, it didn’t quite pay off for the Dutch resultswise, as their home representative Jeangu Macrooy failed to impress both juries and especially viewers with his song “Birth of a New Age“. The Dutch delegation was given the infamous nil point by viewers, and only accumulated a total of 11 points from the juries alone.

Despite the harsh treatment for last year’s host nation, the Dutch remain fearsome and quite brave some would say. By selecting S10 the country is set to return to be represented by a song fully in the Dutch language, for the first time since 2010. It was even rumored that the young female singer was even internally selected over worldwide known DJ Armin van Buuren. Clearly hope and confidence must be very her with the young singer and if you wish to know more about her and her prominence to stardom, we’ve got #YOU even covered on that as well right here.

The song title of her song is “De Diepte“, which translates to The Depth, and it’s finally available in the video below.

“De diepte” handles the subject of mental health and specifically depression after a harsh break-up.

The Netherlands will participate in the first half of the first semi-final, on 10 May 2022. Other countries in this group include Lithuania, Moldova and
