With just under a month to go to Eurovision 2023, the EBU, BBC, and Suspline have released the first interval acts for the semi-finals.
With tickets sold and hosts announced it was only natural that our next lot of information would be about the show themselves. So with that, this morning we now know the semi-final interval acts for both shows.
They are;
- Rita Ora (UK)
- Alyosha (Ukraine 2010)
- Rebecca Ferguson (UK)
- Mariya Yaremchuk (Ukraine 2014)
- OTOY (Ukraine)
- Zlata Dziunka (JESC Ukraine 2022)
- Mariya (Ukraine)
Each of these artists have been chosen to sing as a way of showing how Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Europe are United By Music, this years slogan.
Furthermore, our host Julia Sanina will perform to open the First Semi-Final and there will be a performance in the Second Semi-Final by three Drag Performers to celebrate Europe’s unity and diversity.
Eurovision 2023 creative director Herman Nenov has said this on the interval acts;
“In all three shows we announced the maximum number of Ukrainian artists that can be shown. The topics of the performances, and the accents we place, are large layers of not only musical, but also social nature. I am very grateful to the BBC team for everything we have done together. I’ll be honest: this is probably the most comfortable collaboration in my career. I have never seen such understanding and respect for the ideas of each team member! My main task was to create a multifaceted, very honest and true portrait of today’s Ukraine for Eurovision viewers. And together in collaboration with the BBC, we managed to do it!”
Information on the artists performing in the Grand Final is being kept under tight wraps by the organisers.
Eurovision are making sure that Ukraine’s 2022 win is celebrated this year and its culture kept alive through the show. There is now just 29 days left to the First Semi-Final takes place live from Liverpool.
The show begins on the 9th of May, the Second Semi-Final takes place on the 11th, and the Final following on the 13th of May.
