Switzerland edge closer to their decision for Lisbon and will choose their entrant on Sunday. Today we’re excited to bring you an interview with ZiBBZ who are in this year’s Entscheidungsshow and hoping to represent Switzerland in Portugal!
First of all thank you for your time talking to us. How are you? Can you introduce yourselves? What can you tell us about yourselves?
Hi! We are ZiBBZ, a Swiss sibling duo living in Los Angeles & Zurich. We love music, and have been performing all of our lives.
The song that you will be presenting for the Die Entscheidungsshow is “Stones”. What can you tell us about the song?
We wrote “Stones” in a songwriters’ camp in Switzerland. The song is about inclusion, equality, diversity and tolerance. It’s a call to stand up against bullying and hate; let’s NOT go back to throwing stones!
What was the inspiration for the song, and did you write it specifically for Die Entscheidungsshow and Eurovision?
The inspiration was the message that is very important to us. We wrote it specifically for Eurovision.
What is your impression of the Eurovision Song Contest in general? Do you watch it every year? What is your favourite entry?
When we were kids, we used to watch it with our family. Our favourite performances so far are ABBA, Common Linnets and Celine Dion of course!
Apart from the Eurovision Song Contest, where would you dream to do a performance?
We would love to tour all over the world, play big venues and travel more.
Do you think performing at the Eurovision Song Contest will have a positive impact on your career?
Absolutely!
What is the best bit of advice you have ever been given?
To live our lives exactly the way we want to.
What’s the one thing that might surprise people about you?
That we are loud!
Can you tell us about your first experience with music?
Stee: When I heard the Rolling Stones song “Honky Tonk Woman”, I knew I wanted to become a musician.
Coco: I used to sing and dance at our dad’s concerts: Always in the front row!
Thanks to Stee and Coco for talking to us and we wish them the best of luck in Die Entscheidungsshow on Sunday 4th February!
