Although summer is almost over, the music public of the Gauteng area can get ready for one last great summer festival show. At the Park events is hosting a summer festival on Saturday 9 March at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park close to the O R Tambo international airport.

One of the organisors behind the event is OGAE Rest of the world member MICHAEL DE LANGE.

The festival starts at 10h00 in the morning and will continue until late (probably close to midnight).

A host of South African artists will perform among them several Rest of the world members – artists who have covered some Eurovision songs. Let’s hope some of them will sing these songs.

Names include:
JAY (who covered Denmark 2010 – IN A MOMENT LIKE THIS)
MONIQUE (who covered Hungary 2011 WHAT ABOUT MY DREAMS solo and in duet also Finland 2009, LOSE CONTROL and Azerbaijan 2011 RUNNING SCARED)
WILLEM BOTHA (who covered Latvia 2008, WOLVES OF THE SEA)
BARBARA RAY (who covered Germany 1982 EIN BISSCHIEN FRIEDEN)
NICHOLIS LOUW (who covered among others the huge selection song from Estonia CLUB KUNG FU)
RINEL DAY (who covered among others the German selection song of Michelle IM AUGE DES ORKANS)

OGAE Rest of the world pitched several songs to Rinel for her first CD and more than half of the songs are from us, among them songs originally sung by Petra Frey, Brunner & Brunner, Sieneke and Ricchi & Poveri.

Tickets cost R120 for adults and R60 for children under the age of 12.

We hope it will be a very successful festival.
