The show was filled with impressive performances from each of the newcomers, and featured a variety of stagings involving strong LEDs, instruments like harps, keyboards, and saxophones, and even a haircut live on stage. If you missed any of the performances you can use the links above to watch them via the EMA Eurovision Slovenia YouTube Channel. EMA Freš was hosted by former Eurovision 2012 particiapant Eva Boto, TV host Melani Mekicar, and rapper Arne Međedović.

The results of EMA Freš were decided through a two tier voting system, with two qualifiers being selected through a 100% public televote, and the other two through a 100% jury vote. Once the public and televotes were counted, the hosts announced that LUMA, Stela Sofia, Leya Leanne, and LPS would move on to the EMA semi-finals.

During the EMA semi-finals 20 acts will be cut down to 12 finalists, and the eventual winner will be decided through a combination of both jury and public voting on February 19th. This winner will earn the ticket to Turin, Italy, and of course represent Slovenia in Eurovision this coming May. Slovenia was represented last year by Ana Soklič and her song “Amen” which came in 13th place during the first semi-final, failing to qualify for the grand final.
