It’s been a long journey already in Slovenia, and we’re slowly approaching the end of it all. Last month, we ended our journey with EMA Freš, but tonight we could finally start on EMA, with the first semi-final.
EMA 2022
The format for this year’s EMA is rather simple, a total of 20 songs will compete across the two semi-finals, with a total of six songs qualifying from each semi-final. 16 out of the 20 spots were reserved pre-qualified acts, while the remaining 4 acts were selected from EMA Freš.
Tonight the first semi-final took place, and these were tonight’s 10 acts: (Order of performance)
- July Jones – “Girls Can Do Anything”
- David Amaro – “Še Vedno Si Lepa”
- Le Serpentine – “Tud Teb Se Lahk Zgodi”
- Bowrain and Brina – “Čas Je”
- Luma – “All In”
- Stela Sofia – “Tu In Zdaj”
- Jonatan Haller – “Obzorje”
- Batista Cadillac – “Mim Pravil”
- Zala Smolnikar – “V Ogledalu”
- Manouche – “Si Sama?”
Results
As mentioned just before, a total of 12 songs will compete in the EMA 2022 final, which will take place on the 19th of February. With that said, 6 of tonight’s contestants were selected to qualify to the final by a combined jury and public vote. These were tonight’s 6 qualifiers:
- July Jones – “Girls Can Do Anything”
- David Amaro – “Še Vedno Si Lepa”
- Luma – “All In”
- Stela Sofia – “Tu In Zdaj”
- Batista Cadillac – “Mim Pravil”
- Manouche – “Si Sama?”
The winner of EMA 2022 will represent Slovenia in Turin. Ana Soklič had that honor last year in Rotterdam, where she sang her song “Amen“, unfortunately she didn’t manage to qualify for the big final last year.

[…] The format remained quite the same once again since last week, another 10 acts took part in the second semi-final, and out of those 10 another 6 would be selected to advance to the final, which will take place next week.
