It is no secret that Philip Kirkorov stated that “the dream team” will be in charge of Russia’s representative for Eurovision 2022, but no one expected to have the news so soon as this year’s contest just wrapped less than three weeks ago.
Kirkorov was pictured with composer Dimitris Kontopoulos and stage director Fokas Evangelis along side Russian/Azeri singer JONY, who was also rumored to be Azerbaijani representative a couple of years ago.
JONY was born in Azerbaijan, but moved to Moscow with his family when he was four years old. Since 2018 JONY started doing covers and by end of the year he published his first single Пустой стакан (Empty glass). After that, his popularity has been rising all over former SovIet countries.
JONY seems talented and you can’t say he’s not attractive. With “the dream team” behind his back we can surely expect something big lined up for him, maybe a full Eurovision 2022 package?
Of course these are all just rumors, but only time will tell if they are really working together for Eurovision or if they just were at the same place at the same time.
