The Norwegian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2014 is an open song contest
where all nationalities can submit entries. The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (hereafter: NRK)
reserves the right to choose performing artists, but this is usually done in collaboration with the
composer.
All performers must be 16 years of age at the time of the ESC Final in May 2014.
NRK strongly encourages Norwegian composers to submit entries.
NRK will also invite composers and artists to participate in the competition parallel to the open
submission process.
All submitted songs can be no longer than three (3) minutes long. All submissions must be
unpublished and 100% original material, not previously performed in public. All demos must be
finished to the point where the jury gets a clear impression of the finished track.
In order to participate in the selection process you must fill out: “Form for registration to the Melodi
Grand Prix 2014” which must be submitted together with the entry / entries.
s part of the selection process, short excerpts of submitted entries may be published on one or
more of NRK’s media platforms in MGP-related shows. Being featured through such short excerpts
does however not guarantee participation in the final competition of MGP2014.
By signing the submission form you acknowledge that you have the lawful copyright to the song (s)
and the right to submit it to the jury. Our jury will make their choice during November 2013, and all
who have submitted entries will be notified as soon as decisions are made.
Deadline for submissions is September 15, 2013.

I really hope foreign composers outside of Europe will enter – look at something exotic, maybe combining Chinese elements with Latin American rhythms and African dancers
