First of all thank you for your time talking to us. How are you? Can you introduce yourself? What can you tell us about yourself? Hi! My name is Beatriz Pessoa, I’m a singer / songwriter and I’ll be performing Mallu Magalhães’ song “Eu te amo”. It’s a pleasure for me to be a part of the Song Festival here in Lisbon, after all the buzz around it. Your song that you will be presenting for Festival da cancao is “Eu te Amo”. What can you tell us about the song? It’s a very beautiful and unique song. It talks about love and relationships in a very light and free way. I believe it’s a song that soothes the heart and I hope I can bring that to the audience. Apart from the Eurovision Song Contest , where would you dream to do a performance? I would love to sing abroad, perhaps in London, New York or Paris. Has being on TV made you more self-conscious? Yes, I think it’s always a challenge. But I am very comfortable with our song, so I am pretty sure that it will be fine. What advice you would give to your teenage self? My teenage self was not so long ago, but I would say “Everything will be OK; don’t be so dramatic”. What’s the one thing that might surprise people about you? I’m not sure if this is surprising or not, but I hate broccoli! What is a typical day like for you? I write music, I teach and I sing. My days are mostly spent like that. Thanks Beatriz for taking the time to chat to us! Best of luck in tonight’s semi final! Do #YOU want to see Beatriz represent Portugal in May this year?
