It is the final day of our week long UMK coverage. We finish off with a bang and Portion Boys song ‘Samaa Taivasta Katsotaan’.

Described as Finland’s loudest party bands Portion Boys are one of the most experienced participants in this years UMK competition. The band begun over 10 years ago in Tampere, just north of Helsinki. On its inception day the first song, video and its name were decided.

But, the band are yet to have release an album though had many top hits across the years together. They have collectively had 160 million listens across streaming platforms since their inception.

UMK have released their reasoning for choosing Portion Boys, the final song to be released;

“With a career spanning more than a decade, Portion Boys is one of the most popular bands in Finland at the moment. It’s great to see the band participating in UMK and bringing their own unique mood to the competition. The same sky is seen to celebrate the diversity of Europe in its own playful way and to represent Eurovision’s values ​​of tolerance, which is in demand these days. The song is a chilling ear worm full of laser drums, speed and musical hooks. The band’s crazy live energy has been nicely incorporated into the song, which has a great composition under all the going and mood. Here is possibly one of the most streamed songs of 2023 in Finland.”

And with that we have heard all the acts competing in this years UMK competition. In one month on the 25th of February the final will take place in Turku and, one of these acts will represent Finland in Liverpool.
