It’s only September but once again we have a new Eurovision champion! Poland has just won the 2016 edition of the Eurovision Young Musicians competition, which seeks to find the best new musical talent in Europe.

This year it was the turn of Łukasz Dyczko to take the crown with a rendition of Wagner’s Rhapsody pour Saxophone alto, with the Czech Republic’s Robert Bílý (piano) in second and Austria’s Dominik Wagner (Double bass) coming third.

The show took place in front of Cologne’s cathedral in Germany and saw Dyczko win 10,000 euros and the chance to perform with WDR’s Symphonic Orchestra in a solo concert.
