Couple days ago Slovenian broadcaster has revealed the names of participants of the upcoming EMA. Among them is 2005 representative Omar Naber, who finished 12th in the semifinal among 25 participants.
There is no need for introduction, Eurofans know you quite a bit. This is your fourth EMA since 2005. What did motivate you this time to send your song to RTVSLO?
I think that I have a great song for EMA and for Eurovision, so I’ve decided to make this step again.
You also have some Arabic origins, so can we expect some rhythms like those in your song?
No, there aren’t any. My song is very modern and glamorous.
Eurovision has grown quite a bit since your participation, also there is a lot of influnce of western music. How do you feel about that?
West has influenced music in all parts of the world, so it was inevitably to happen the same with Eurovision. I think it is a good thing, since we get good and quality materials from there.
This EMA will feature a lot of popular and established performers. Who do you consider your biggest competitor?
I think that my biggest competitor will be Maja Keuc, now known as Amaya. She is a good friend of mine so I can tell she’ll be the fiercest of them all.
And, for the final question, I would like to ask you to tell our readers something interesting about you.
Lot of people don’t know, that I’ve penned all of my music.
Omar, thank you so much for your time. I wish you all the best at EMA!
It was my pleasure! All the best to you and your readers.
