We have a quick update on Norway – The first part of the Second Chance Show has just aired. During this televised radio show, the three MGP hosts (Kåre, Mikkel and Annika) reflect on the 12 entries that failed to place themselves for the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2022, airing the performances again for the Norwegian public’s leisure.

 

 

The 12 acts that were in contention for a second chance tonight

During the show, the app vote reopened and you were able to cast votes for the 12 eliminated acts to give them a second chance in MGP. Last year this wildcard vote was won by Jorn, who went on to reach the Silver Final (Top four) in the MGP2021 finale with his song “Faith bloody faith“.

This year however, Norway decided to shake things up by delivering four wildcards, which will compete this Saturday for the last remaining golden ticket.

In the end the four wildcards that earned a second chance were revealed as follows.
  • Mari Bølla – “Your loss
  • Maria Mohn – “Fly
  • Kim Wigaard – “La Melodia
  • TrollfesT – “Dance like a pink flamingo

The second part of the Second Chance Show (Heat 5) will be broadcast live next Saturday. The final autoqualifier (“Queen Bees” by Anna-Lisa Kumoji) will be showcased during this show as well. The whole event will be streamable via NRK’s website (www.nrk.no/mgp).
