A few days ago, we reported about Montenegro’s debut in Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Now it seems the participation of the Balkan country in the main contest next year is well underway too.
The head of press of the Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG, Sabrija Vulić, stated that Montenegro is intending to take part in Austria next May. However, financial aspects might be an issue. According to Vulić, RTCG will do their best to assure a participation despite high costs – entering Eurovision is very important for the small Balkan country because it’s an opportunity to expose the country to the rest of the continent as well as showcasing its music scene.
After five unsuccessful attempts since their debut in 2007, Montenegro managed to make it to the big final for the very first time this year. Sergej Ćetković achieved a 19th place with his song Moj svijet and even received two sets of 12 points. Watch his final performance below!
