The country is probably best known among eurofans, for their very eye catching acts and the yearly auditions. Moldova has taken another step towards their national final, by holding a live draw of the running order.
Selecția Națională 2023
It all started with 60+ submissions, where most of them were scrapped from not following the rules. Then it went down to 33 songs, who were accepted for the live auditions, 2 songs were eventually scrapped for breaching certain rules. Then on audition day, 30 out of the 31 possible songs were performed, with 1 only missing out. Just to give our readers a short recap of how it has gone so far.
After the live auditions had taken, the points from the jury were put together in order to pick the 10 finalists, which will perform in the national final on the 4th of March 2023.
This was the outcome of the draw for the final:
- Donia – “Red Zone”
- OL – “Why You Play It Cool”
- Victor Gulick – “Let’s Dance”
- Surorile Osoianu – “”Bade, Bădişor, Bădiţă“
- Cosmina – “Indestructable”
- Nördika – “Damn and Down”
- Aliona Moon – “Du-mă“
- Sunstroke Project – “Yummy Mommy”
- Pasha Parfeni – “Soarele şi Luna”
- Corina Ivanov – “When Love’s Real”
It is rather noticeable how all 3 of Moldova’s former representative all drew up against each other, with all 3 also being considered the main favorites for this national final. The show will however, be decided by a jury and a public vote. The jury for the audition vote will not be the same, as the jury for the national final.
The draw can be rewatched here for those who are curios to see, how it was all done.
On the day of the allocation draw, Moldova was picked out to perform in the second half, of the first semi-final. This semi-final will take place on the 9th of May in Liverpool, later this year.
