The scandal surrounding Skopje Fest is thickening – today the Macedonian broadcaster MRT has released a statement about the allegations of vote fixing and has welcomed an investigation into the matter.
Macedonia’s national final has been subjected to claims that the result of the contest was rigged in order for Daniel Kajmakoski to win and represent Macedonia in Eurovision 2015. A statement from the broadcaster states that they will welcome any investigations into the matter in order to save the name of Skopje Fest, MRT and Macedonia’s history in the Eurovision Song Contest.
An interesting development in the story is the supposed disclosure of the Turkish jury’s votes in the national final, in which each juror gave the exact same rankings. These rankings can be found below and are from the official MRT website;
Whether you agree or not with a non-participating jury voting in the contest, it is currently unknown what will happen with the Skopje Fest result. However, we at ESC United will be keeping you updated in the process.
