There’s a bit more than a month until the EMA semifinals and we are now half way through the interviews with the participants.
We can also say that in coming days snippets of every song will be revealed.
Today’s interview is with charming Lea Sirk, who was a backing vocalist to two previous Slovenian entrants – Tinkara Kovač and Manuella.
Lea, would you be kind enough to describe yourself to our readers in just two sentences?
Sure I can. 🙂 I am a simple person and mother of two children. Also I’m a musician who explores herself through songs.
You’ve participated in many festivals, so you have lots of experience. You’ve also been a backing vocalist for two Slovenian performers. Is your solo Eurovision performance something what will make you complete?
As backing vocalist I was at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 with Tinkara in Denmark and last year with Manuella in Sweden. I think that a performance only helps song to be promoted. Music is my life and I feel fulfilled no matter where I perform.
Eurovision songs every year are becoming more and more like mainstream music. Can you tell us something about your song?
Yes, it’s true, even my song’s production is modern. But, still, my story and my vision are packed in and it is about human freedom.
Lots of popular performers are in this years EMA. Who do you consider your biggest competitor?
Competition is always welcome. I think that there will be a lot of good songs on EMA this year and also, I am happy that I will be able to perform this year.
Your favorite Eurovision entry?
Calm After The Storm by Common Linnets.
And Lea I would like to ask you to tell us something about yourself that no one else knows.
If I tell you, than everyone will know. 🙂 But I can tell you that I have a new album coming up soon and that some of the songs lyrics are true stories that I haven’t told anyone yet.
Lea, thank you so much for your time. I hope you’ll give your best at EMA.
Thank you! It was a pleasure! 🙂
