Jade Ewen, who represented the United Kingdom at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, had to declare bankruptcy.
The talented singer joined the popular band Sugababes shortly after her Eurovision participation. When the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2012, Ewen allegedly was already running into Financial difficulties then. According to the Daily Mail“, she owes thousands of pounds to the tax man.
A source said to the Sun that “Jade put her all into her music but sadly things simply haven’t gone well”
But there are some good news as Ewen recently tweeted about a new project that is in the works:
On my way to Romania to shoot my first ever action movie ‘End Of A Gun’ with Steven Seagal! Wish me luck ✈️????????????????????

The artist has not publicly commented on the bankruptcy filing.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time a former Sugababes member declared bankruptcy. In 2014, Mutya, Buena, an original member of the band, was unable to pay her tax bill which she blamed on an administrative error.
To the Eurovision fans, the 27-year-old singer will always be remembered as the one who brought home the only Top 10 result for the United Kingdom in 13 years! You can listen to her entry “My time” below.
