Last night saw the next round of Israel’s HaKokhav HaBa take place, with another act eliminated from the selection and with just nine artists left in the competition.

The ten remaining contestants were paired into duels based around themes; the first duel saw two each of the contestants team up as duos, the second duel saw two of the contestants perform songs from their idols, the third duel saw the artists who had previously stuck to ballads perform uptempo songs, and in the fourth duel the artists performed in front of their relatives.

The four duels went as follows;

  • Chen Aharoni & Jonathan Mergui (92%) beat Adva Omer & Eden Meiri (66%)
  • Riki Ben Ari (64%) beat José Steinberg (53%)
  • Ravit Batashvili (74%) beat Shay & Gilad (36%)
  • Netta Barzilai (79%) beat Howie Danao (69%)

The judges then saved Adva Omer, Eden Meiri and Howie Danao, leaving José Steinberg and Shay & Gilad to battle for the last remaining spot in the next round. In this battle, Steinberg (82%) won meaning that Shay & Gilad (28%) were eliminated.
