In a statement released yesterday by SMRTV, the national broadcaster of the microstate of San Marino, the director general of the TV station has confirmed that talks have been held between the country and Luxembourg about a joint participation, as recent rumours suggested. However, the broadcaster has also taken the opportunity to confirm that no deals have been made yet and a decision regarding who will represent San Marino next year in Vienna is yet to be made.
San Marino has confirmed that it will be present in Vienna but it is unlikely that we will see a fourth participation from Valentina Monetta in 2015. No details of the Sanmarinese song selection have been made public yet.
The microstate became the first to qualify for a Eurovision final in 2014, when Valentina Monetta finished 25th with “Maybe”.
