ESC United talked to all 8 acts that had their first rehearsals today. They will be performing in the second half of Semi Final 1 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden. The Semi Final will take place exactly one week from today (Tuesday, May 14th, 2013) so let’s get to know them a little better.

Shauna, they sure are, but they are always fair and gentle. I for one would be a very critical reportert, for example, I would have asked Ryan Dolan if he doesn’t feel ashamed by his all-male performance, or Natalia Kelly if she doesn’t think that her performance is too boring for Eurovision?
Or “dear Zlata, I love your song and I was committed to vote for it until I saw your overly kitschy performance which made want to puke into my mate’s backbag”
Well… 😛

Well, I used to hate my voice until the day a vocal coach told me that I am very gifted and have an incredible voice. So I love listening to my own voice actually. It’s just awkward when you are not used to it. I struggle rather with watching myself than hearing myself, so I better do interviews for radio only ^^
Well done btw. and don’t change for the sake of your own perception of yourself 😛
If I don’t lose interest in ESC once again (in case we fail yet again, which is very likely), I might want to get accredited as well next time for my imaginary radio show :p

Web/Internet is a legit thing, just like TV & radio. Just because it isn’t “mainstream” doesn’t make it less important. The online community is a major part of Eurovision and I appreciate and enjoy those videos.

I just hate hearing myself speak on camera. Matt said the same thing about himself. 🙂
Not sure if the artists get it. I like that I’m not the only one who thinks that as well. The term “Journalist” is very broad when it comes to Eurovision stuff, because most of them are just fans who run a website, and thus become “press.” I’m sure most of the artists know. I assume they go through some “media training” in order to be prepared for us!

Why would you hate yourself?
It kinda seems to me that ESC is mostly covered by internet forums and their admins rather than by the press….. I hardly read something in mainstream news. Do the artists get that they are interviewed by common people?

Argh I hate hearing myself on camera! Sorry I dorked out on the Moldova interview. I was as giddy and giggly as a school girl!
