This morning the Austrian broadcaster ORF has announced the 16 artists that will fight for the ticket to represent their country on home soil. The scouting process was carried through by a team revolving around the singer Anna F. and her manager Alexander Deutsch. The line-up is made up of newcomers as well as established artists. The name of the national final will be Wer singt für Österreich? (“Who sings for Austria?”).
These 16 artists were selected for the first stage of the national final:

The first show will be prerecorded today but only broadcast on 20 February. Out of these 16 acts, six will be chosen by a jury to proceed to the next rounds. The qualifiers will stay in the show until the live final. Until then, they will be able to present themselves and work on two potential Eurovision songs with the support of national and international songwriters/producers.
20 February – The audition (prerecorded on 2 December)
27 February – The top six (prerecorded on 10 December)
6 March – The songs (prerecorded)
13 March – live final
