Andreas Kümmert is (in)famous for winning the German National Final, just to give his title to Runner-Up Ann Sophie. This caused a big uproar among fans who felt they voted for their favorite for nothing. And not only that, voting isn’t free and Andreas’ supporters felt that their hard-earned money was wasted.
Previously, the singer has been vocal on his Facebook page by posting the following message on March 9th, shortly after his decision not to take part in Eurovision:
To everyone who is insulting me here!
(Those insults are “Bottom Drawer”!!!)I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to get accomplished with this?!
Do you seriously believe I’d stop now, just because some of you don’t agree?!
You’re off! I’m a musician and that’ll never change!
Your comments only confirm my opinion about this society.
You all fit in perfectly into this machine!!!
To everyone who is standing by me! keep on rockin’
See ya!
an alle Leute, die mich hier beschimpfen!(diese Beschimpfungen sind wirklich unterste schublade!!!)ich bin mir nicht…

This response did not sit well with a lot of fans and people as he gave no real reason why he decided to withdraw after the fact and instead decided to focus on putting the blame on others.
The latest drama just occurred when Andreas decided to unexpectedly cancel a concert in Gera, Germany after completing the sound check without a proper explanation or apology. Some fans used strong statements to voice their displeasure and the 28-year-old singer went on attack by posting the following:
My lawyer is involved! To all haters: Piss off, you degenerated assholes!!!
mein anwalt ist eingeschaltet!an alle hater :verpisst euch, ihr degenerierten arschlöcher!!!

One of the posts said that Andreas should jump off a bridge and that he’s a shame for all musicians. While the harsh words seem out of place too most of us, the response from the singer was also received negatively by his fans and followers. Most people pointed out that negative comments from people are part of the job and that responding such manner is beyond unprofessional and inappropriate. His fans also didn’t like the fact that he threatened people with legal actions and using intimidation as a tool. While some people also voice his support, an overwhelming majority are definitely turned off by this behavior.
There have been discussions about Andreas’ health condition which has been a problem for a while which includes allegations of clinical Depression. However, we were unable to confirm those claims.
Who knows what would have happened if Mr. Kuemmert had accepted his win and represented Germany at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May. But that is something we don’t have to worry about as Ann Sophie seems to have everything under control now and is looking forward to represent her country with the song “Black Smoke”.
Below you can listen to the original winner as well as the Runner-Up. Which one do you like best? Don’t forget to join the conversation on our Forum.
