Surprising news from the EBU headquarters – it appears that according to 12points.gr broadcasters have been notified of the deadline for confirming their participation in 2015, and that for the first time should a broadcaster wish to withdraw after these deadlines then no penalty will be imposed on the broadcaster.

The EBU has set the deadlines to confirm participation for broadcasters at October 10th 2014, with the confirmation period beginning in September. From this, it seems that we should be getting an official participants list much earlier than expected for 2015.

Both the EBU and ORF seem to be taking a much more organised approach to the contest’s 60th anniversary, with a host city decision expected within the next month and participants to be decided in three. Wirtschaftsblatt.at also reports that the EBU and ORF will begin to visit the three candidate cities – Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck – next week in order to decide which city will recieve the honour of hosting Eurovision 2015.
