Going back… for some clues indicating his preparation

Victor Vernicos, who is only 16 years old, will represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest, making him the youngest ever representative from Greece. He is a singer and songwriter from Athens and will perform his song “What They Say” on the big stage in Liverpool during the Second Semi-Final of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

Despite his young age, Victor is already showing promise in becoming a skilled musician. He began playing the piano when he was four years old and picked up the guitar at the age of ten. Additionally, he has taken courses in Music Technology and is currently receiving vocal lessons.

Greece throughout the years

In 1974, Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time, but prior to winning in 2005, they had only managed to finish in the top 5 on four occasions. Greece had the opportunity to host the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens in 2006.

Greece has had a variable track record when it comes to success in the Eurovision Song Contest. While the country didn’t make a remarkable impact when it initially participated in the contest in the 1970s, it managed to consistently perform well over the years and has never come in last place in the competition up until now.

In the last two years Greece has managed to stay in the top 10 with the help of Stefania and Amanda Tenfjord.
