Today, GPB, the Georgian national broadcaster, have revealed that they have internally selected their representative(s) for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, and will make the announcement public tomorrow at 9:00 CET.
Not much has been disclosed regarding the Georgian participation in Stockholm as yet, but, the announcement today proves that they have been working to find the right act to represent their nation, and are ready to make the announcement tomorrow in a press conference in Tbilisi.
The last time Georgia internally selected an act was for the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, when they selected The Shin & Mariko with the song “Three minutes to earth” which ended last in the semi final, so why tamper with a winning formula I hear you say?! I joke. In 2015 GPB hosted a national final where the public were allowed 2 weeks to vote before the winner was announced as Nina Sublatti and her song “Warrior”, known as the Georgian Warrior, due to the fact there were 2 songs entitled “Warrior” in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
