Yes, it's quite the difference. Although perhaps maybe not the right people for it REJU voted, one thing for sure is that the song had a good draw.. and I'm glad it did xheat

Hello all! This edition United States are sharing The Armed. This hardcore punk band came to my attention thanks to the video game Cyberpunk 2077. The game has a killer soundtrack and this group's wild tune Night City Aliens is my favourite. It gets me super pumped whenever I hear it and that chorus even delivers goosebumps. I had been considering sending it since the game came out at the end of 2020, but Uto hosting was the push I finally needed. I hope this song brings back fond memories of his time spent with his lovely waifu, Judy. For me personally it helps recall the shy romance I had with the terrorist living inside my body, Johnny Silverhand (aka Keanu Reeves).

An oath sworn in scars
I don't need vortex lies
Accept the order
Ignore the others

The indecent void
Tiny fallen toys

An oath sworn in scars
I don't need vortex lies
Enforce the mission
Eyes close at the end of a cross hit

The indecent void
Tiny fallen toys

Cross-country caravan
Nighty City aliens
I pull the trigger and I feel nothing
Cross-country caravan
Nighty City aliens
I pull the trigger and I feel nothing

Blinded without time
Curated formal yarn
Accept the mission
Products of indecision

The indecent void
Tiny fallen toys

Cross-country caravan
Nighty City aliens
I pull the trigger and I feel nothing
Cross-country caravan
Nighty City aliens
I pull the trigger and I feel nothing
Cross-country caravan
Nighty City aliens
I pull the trigger and I feel nothing

Nighty City aliens

This edition United States are sharing with you the lovely Mereba, an artist hailing from Alabama. I discovered her music about a year ago or so, and the moment I heard Bet I knew I would be sharing it with you. I just needed to wait for the right moment when it matched my mood. This one's got an aching beauty to it that really hits me hard, especially when going into the second chorus. I think it's stunning. Her music is a unique blend of folk, R&B and hip hop. On Bet, Mereba takes things into Weyes Blood-esque dream pop territory but with a subtle twist of her own.

This might just be my favourite music video I've shared with you as well. Certainly one of the most evocative. It shows a young man wrestling with his sexuality before eventually being outed, seemingly by one of his friends and the at first hauntingly beautiful video becomes heart-wrenching to watch. The end with the fireworks masking what's happening still gives me chills each time. The gold glitter on the perpetrators hand rather than blood is a powerful image.

Bet my bottom dollar that
You would make my father go
Mad like seeing double
He'd say your name then he’d call you trouble, oh
Don't you worry about
So clean but they'd do you dirty
I’m mad for being flirty with you

Heard from a bird that you
You're nothing but trouble
Just trouble
Heard from a bird that you
You're nothing but trouble
Just trouble

But I like how low you lay
And I let you in my day
'Cause I like the way you call me baby
Heard from a bird that you
You're nothing but trouble
Trouble

And I'm still picking up the rubble from my last quake
And I was sitting on the shadow coming from my last break
Had to take a second look, then a third then etcetera
He said don't let your eyes get ahead of ya
He called me out
And I was blushing like Russians up in the snow
I said I'm sorry made my way to the do’
He said no
You fly love, I’m gonna call you my thug
You gon' call me yo man
They gon’ call me that thug
Like, hope plain and simple we would meet every week or two
Light up the reefer tinted window two-seater, ooh
I like his meaner demeanor
It doesn't mean our
Worlds can't collide right place right time, right?
I bet my dollar you'd be hated by my father but
Loved by a daughter you could father
I said too much
A birdie said you was rough
Might break me up like I was what you put in the dutch but

I like how low you lay
And I let you in my day
’Cause I like the way you call me baby
Heard from a bird that you you're nothing but trouble
You're just trouble
But I like how low you lay
And I let you in my day
'Cause I like the way you call me baby
Heard from a bird that you
You're nothing but...

Bet my bottom dollar that
Bet, bet my bottom dollar that
Bet, bet my bottom dollar that

9th in Semi 2 with 65 Points / 9th in REJU with 33 Points
18th
in the Grand Final with
104 Points

I can't stop looking at that amount of voters. It's extraordinary. In fact, twenty six voters is exactly the same amount Skeeter had when she came 2nd a couple of editions ago. 18th might not be the greatest finish and I was lowkey hopeful I might have had the potential to sneak into the top 10 with Bet, but never could I have imagined getting this many people appreciating a hybrid dream-folk, hip hop/R&B entry, even if it was with a majority of middle to lower numbers. Support truly came from every corner. Really, really happy with this unique result for Mereba's haunting song. Thank you! I'm going to make it a mission to send more alternative R&B and especially hip hop stuff.

I feel like I'm being held at ransom every time I tell myself I'm going to take a break as someone then wins whose hosting feels like one I can't miss, and it's happened again. Gosh, darn it. I can't afford to miss a ShoeFlo edition in Bremen, so I'll think of something to send.

This edition we're finally sending Angel Olsen to WorldVision. She's an artist that's been on my lengthy shortlist for years. A couple of months ago SwedishFailurez suggested something of hers to me which was beautiful and helped put the lady right back at the front of my mind again to send, but in the end I've gone with this gorgeous reimagining of Angel's Waving, Smiling, a song I had planned to send since the moment I heard it on release, but I'd been waiting for the right moment. This one was originally on her 2020 album, titled Whole New Mess. In 2021 Angel released a box set comprised of two previous records, along with a bonus LP containing new tracks and alternative versions of some of her songs. The newly named Alive and Dying (Waving, Smiling) was one such lucky track to receive a revisit, now with an 11 piece orchestra giving it an incredibly different feel to the very raw acoustic original. I hope you enjoy it.

Found me down
Then honey, you left me down
Turned right around
Now baby, I'm risin'
How could you know?
Wherever a heart should go
Where you're on your own
When you are arriving

I've made my bed
I've laid out all those tears
I've made my bed
Made up of all my fears
All my fears
Cried out all of those years
Cried out all of those years

Now baby, I'm lying
Laid out and smiling
Look out my window
The sun is shining
The sun is shining
I'm waving, smiling
At love forever
Alive and dying
I'm waving, smiling
I'm waving, smiling
At love forever
Alive and dying

The sun is shining
The sun is shining

Sadistik makes his long awaited return to WorldVision. I last shared him with you over three years ago when I gave his song Saints a PQ (still my favourite entry I've sent to date). GODMODE is a piece taken from the rapper's latest release, Bring Me Back When The World Is Cured, a collaboration with CunninLynguists' Kno. This pair always mean business when they team up. It's been really hard choosing a song of Sadistik's for this comeback. He's my favourite artist and I pretty much love everything he's done. GODMODE though is fresh, crunchy and aurally a bit more roomy and laid back than a lot of his songs whilst still coming at you hard lyrically. Plus that gorgeous video is probably my favourite he's done. I hope some of you enjoy it 🖤

Rainfall rainfall, come until the pain's gone
Wash away the small-talk cutting me like chainsaws
AWOL, change blue views with the cray pas
Sketch it with crayons, embed it in chaos
I'm better than they are make sure they all taste salt
When they utter my name make 'em numb with licaine
Migraine, lay up under my brain, why change
When there's none in my lane, I reign while
Drops fly down just to wash my crown
Deluged when the god cries out, they choose
To be moth-light bound, I knew my noose
Was a tear-drop shape on a off-white clown
Watch 'em grow into trees that I roll for relief
When I smoke disappear then I'm gone in a blink
All my spit turned to pearls then I broke it in pieces
Take out my skull just to soak it in bleach
All I ever wanted was the pain to appease I'm afraid
All I got was a change of the seasons
Make me believe in the phase of the beast
I release when I trace it in cement and leave it
The rain makes the leaves wet, buried under sea-level
Stayed on the defense, wary of the she-devils
Talks are so toxic I'm not interested
I live in the underground walking with lepers
Oxygen levels are nada persona non grata
I author stigmata armadas of trauma
I'll burn with the gods I'm a martyr
Then turn it to Autumn Sonata, de nada
De Sade on the Marquis, I'm dodging the harpies
A part of me's lost so I follow the heartbeats
If I'm made of water that comes from the rain
Then the waves that I'm on are a part of my body
Godmode
Godmode

Downpour, downpour tell me what you'd drown for
Precipitate tears then I wait 'til the clouds form
Monsoon weather they all flock together, same feather
Peacock blue neon hue, freon grew
Frostbitten bones tossed to the shore
Talk to the ghosts when they knock on my door
Got lost in the snow with a pocket of posie
Posthumous flow from the god of the lonely
Watch when he glows in the dark and the insects come
Get stuck in the fishnet tongue, press luck 'til the kismet hums
Kiss death when the lips left numb, on a voodoo doll
When the pins get stuck and the pain wouldn't wane
So I stayed in the grey with a misspent love
Won't play their charades it's a dangerous game
Two graves that I made while I rained on parades
In the eye of the storm where the tides are enormous
Ice on the shoulder the mind is a fortress
Light from the smolder providing the warmth
Why live by the pen rather die by the sword
My god I'm lost in the height of the fog
Time stops when it grinds to a halt
Find what I lost, died on a cross, price of the alms
Write highlights as a shrine for the gods, shine bright
Like a light in a tunnel when I lie in the rubble
They admire the struggle, I'm trapped in cocoons
With the lightning and thunder that I hide in my jugular
Providing my blood for the Draculas too
Come die in the mud cut ties with the sun
Only clouds come out when its time for the flood
Ultraviolet flux, I decline in a flash
Why define what is nothing when I am just ash
Godmode
Godmode

This ain't gon' be easy. It's time to Work with Kelly Rowland. The Texan songstress released this banger in 2008 and it got a huge push when she shared the bhangra infused Freemasons remix of the song. It's one of the few instances for me where a remix totally kicks the butt of the original, here making the music so much richer and just gives it such an epic feel. One of my faves from my teen years for certain. Hope you enjoy it!

This ain't gon' be easy (work)
Uh, you got it? You got it?
Put it in (work)

Tables turnin' to a situation
Now you standin' in my face and you been patiently waitin'
Fumblin' over words, forget the conversation
Thinkin' maybe we can make a combination
Wanna see me lose my breath and wanna hear me moan
Better be ready, we'll enable when we get alone
'Cause youou was talkin' confident up on the telephone
So you gotta put it in when we get it on

No turnin' back from this party
Put you through enough to complain
Ain't no comin' down from this side
My love, don't go nowhere the sun set
Look at what you got yourself into
Best take advantage, be all that you can be
Best take advantage, see all that you can see
'Cause this could be your last opportunity to move me

check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it
(Work) do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it
(Put it in) check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it
(Work) do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it
(Go on) check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it
(Work) do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it
Don't come around if you gon' let me down
You gotta get it all the way in
I wanna see you work

now you lookin' like you're lookin' for an explanation
Use the curves in my body for your motivation
Skip the petty games, no need for complication
Useful things for sure, I reach my destination
You better leave a good impression 'fore you hit the door
'Cause you don't want me talkin' 'bout your business on the low?
If you show it off, I had to fit you in my schedule
So you better put it on, but when it's time to go

I ain't acceptin' no excuses, baby
Don't brag about it, it'd be useless, baby
You better blow me away
Make a girl wanna stay
At your spot, go another round
Here's your chance, your chance to prove
Don't forget your move
There's nothing to lose for me

check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it
Do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it
Check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it
Do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it
(Put it in, put it in, put it in, put it in) check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it
Do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it (Do it, do-do it baby, get it babe)
Check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it (Work it, work it baby, get it babe)
Do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it (Check it, check it baby, get i babe)
Check it, baby, get it, baby, check it, baby, get it (Ah-huh)
Do it, baby, do it, do it, baby, get it (Ah-huh, yeah)
Don't come around if you gon' let me down (Don't come around)
You gotta get it all the way in
I wanna see you work

I'm really lucky that a Conny edition inspired me to send this Kelly song. I didn't expect to do this well. It's my greatest bop result ever (Countess Luann dethroned). Thank you for all the support. Geez, so close to winning xheat but being the runner up feels great, especially as my results this year so far (excluding Skeeter) have been on the flop side of things.

@theditz83 thank you xheart It was an honour to be the runner up behind you as you got your first WorldVision win. It was a long time coming 🎉 I bet it feels fantabulous!

I think the contest actually helps when going through difficult IRL stuff. I've taken part in the past whilst going through tough stuff. It helps to have something to take your mind off of things even if it's momentarily, and having your WV buddies around you is never a bad thing. In this case now there will come the time when I do need to step back for a while from the game, but for now I'm in until I'm out. I don't want to miss your hosting!

This is a small, spur-of-the-moment national final to celebrate the life and music of Julee Cruise. I'm unfortunately sharing her work with you under very sad circumstances as she chose to leave us only a couple of days ago after a difficult battle with systemic lupus. This one has really hit me hard. Some of you may know I'm a huge lover of all things David Lynch. A pioneer of the dream pop genre, Julee Cruise worked with Lynch, most famously on his murder mystery tv show, Twin Peaks. This lady's music has had a massive impact on my life and so I want to share with you her three songs that mean the most to me. Each were featured in the Twin Peaks series or movie. I know I've left this very last minute but I had to listen to my heart here, and I simply can't pick between these songs. I want you to experience them and help me in choosing the best of the bunch as a tribute. There's a lot more I could and want to say but for now I'll let you have a listen to these ethereal beauties. I hope you enjoy them.

VOTING: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND HAVE TIME, SIMPLY GIVE EACH SONG A STAR RATING
YOU CAN GIVE EACH SONG UP TO FIVE STARS (repeats allowed)

Thank you to the seven of you who have voted. I really appreciate it. Modest turnout but that just means I'm more excited to share Julee's music with people for the first time during the LL. We've ended on a tie which I don't think can be broken fairly using what we've got. Both songs had three people placing them 1st, and then each were placed 2nd three times. Early on in this thing though, after I'd witnessed what a particular song did to a couple of players here *insert tearful cat meme*, I was touched and started to want it to win. I'm going to follow my heart and pick that one, saving the song that tied with it at the top for a future edition one day hopefully.

Why, thank you, Zeus. Pretty darn decently considering the genre. I sent them to WorldVision 91 (would have been about four years ago now, geez) and they came 16th in the final with 118 points. This kind of stuff can at times be a tricky sell at the contest but it can still have its moments.

Hey, don't you worry about it at all, Gary. I'm really happy with what we're sending and I've got a feeling you might have chosen it from the three anyway had you given them a listen. To Leiden we go! xbike
