Kacey Fifield is a singer-songwriter who is based in Los Angeles. As a result of winning PacSong, she and DJ Nippandab represent the Pacific States with "Toxic."

It has been a pleasure to serve as the juror of the Pacific States during the past six editions. In the next edition of WV, I will be the juror of New Zealand and Gera will take over the Pacific States. I look forward to competing with you all in my new role.

"Chihiro" is the third track on Billie's third studio album called Hit Me Hard and Soft. When the album was released back in May 2024, at first I wasn't really into any of the songs from the album, but slowly they captured my heart, especially this one, "Birds of a Feather", "Blue" and "Lunch". By the end of the year, according to last.fm, it became my #2 most listened album of the year. Hah. Also, Billie was my #3 most listened artist in 2024, so in a way it's only right to start the year with her.

I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as the juror of the Pacific States once again.
As most of you know, the Pacific States has had a long successful history as a pop region, sending artists such as Britney, Billie and Gaga to the WorldVision stage. The Pacific States has certainly been a strong rival to Western USA during the region's pop eras.
However, within the five West Coast states, there is a wide range of music beyond the mainstream music that is often heard on the hundreds of local radio stations that are owned by America's media conglomerates. My aim is to send lesser-known artists from different genres to the WorldVision stage, thereby making the Pacific States an eclectic region.
I look forward to sharing the songs of the artists with you all.

After finishing last in Semifinal 1 of WV 197, we have decided to send well-known artists from time to time, as long as they don't cause us to overlap Western USA in terms of musical style. Despite this change, we remain committed to sending artists from different genres to WorldVision.
The Pacific States is participating in WV 198 with a returning artist. This artist has represented America's western regions a few times in the past.

Linkin Park, with a new lead vocalist (Emily Armstrong) and a new drummer (Colin Brittain), returns to the WorldVision stage after an absence of 107 editions. They previously appeared in WV 13, WV 32, WV 56, and WV 90. In WV 198, they are representing the Pacific States with "Up from the Bottom."
