In other circumstances, I would delightfully look forward to a contest hosted by the amazing Joch...I mean, Roffbeard, but unfortunately, Belvist will have to take a break this edition.

As I already wrote and as many people know already, I lost my grandfather from COVID last week......

and now I am also positive, for the second time in two months. It is mild in my case (at least so far), but definitely not a walk in the park. Far from it.

I will have to use some time to recover both mentally and physically and then Belvist will be back.

Good luck everyone, I am sure this will be one of the best editions ever. Eventually, Belvist will be with you again.

Just a disclaimer. I've got a rough outline for this edition planned around my full-time shift job to make this work. I'm definitely making sure to not repeat my NSC 104 tardiness, no major delays this time, just don't expect all events to last no longer than seven days or day-after-deadline results.

I've accepted Tanoiro's entry, since it's very clearly two different songs and exactly the type of sampling that the rules allow. But just for the sake of absolute transparency I'm posting about it here, so that if there's anyone who wants to object they'll have a chance to do so.

Gonna be out of town tomorrow and Friday by the way. I'll try to be available if there's anything urgent, but confirmations might not be fully handled until Saturday.

Not a direct sample, and this is one time when whosampled.com has it wrong. It's the same synth sound, but it's a different melody. I can understand why you draw comparisons as rhythmically it follows a regularly-used syncopation for backdrops in dance music but yeah, melodically it's entirely different so could be better classed as a reworking of the Insomnia hook
