Well I have alot of friends in Malta from X-Factor Malta days so I have few names in mind who I want to see represent Host country in Eurovision 2022....Maybe Iro Losco as host would be lovely

I want Malta to be a bit more daring, incorporate local elements or even Maltese language.
I don't dislike the past Maltese entries, but you can tell they lack any authenticity.
I'm all for a bop again though, but an organic bop? (If that makes sense

I think 2021 might be Malta's biggest peak we see in a while. I feel like they don't have the right resources to compete in ESC post-2015 era of musical authenticity over 2000-2015 era pop manufactured success.

Am I the only one that is happy with what Malta has been doing since 2019? Like you may argue that it doesn't support the Maltese song-writers but where did that lead them - basically NQs. At least they get to the final (even top 10) with this system.

yeah ok I agree.. it just creates fake hype... let entries speak on their own tbh... I'm sure both in 2019 and 2021 they would get the same result with or without the hype.

Yeah... I mean, sure the televoting result for Malta this year was disappointing but 7th place in itself isn't a bad result -- especially if they had their eyes on a top 5 instead of a victory, which was pretty unrealistic unless the staging was incredible

I'm pretty confident that Gaia Cauchi will be the official representative of Malta in 2022
I can already envision her name in the title of the thread.

I'm fine with that they're doing, I mean they did have some of the best entries ever just in the past years...
I think the problem is the lack of authenticity in their entries, but it's not like the entries they sent previously were very authentic either except for a few exception.
The Travellers could be an interesting option especially if they would get artistic freedom to create their entry on their own terms, but if the only locals interested would be the same bunch that previously came up with cheesy dated songs in English (that also lacked authenticity), then yeah they might as well keep up with their current method.
Bring back Malta Song For Europe!
The good old days when we had Natasha and Charlene, The Mics, Julie and Ludwig, Manuel Xuareb, Kevin Borg, etc.
And endless commercials of Mediterranean Bank :-)
