This thread is for any general Eurovision 2025 discussion not limited to or specifically about any country's national selections or song choices.
A televote winner not being first in any streaming platform of any country that participated in Eurovision this year... Israel included. Yeah, nothing strange at all.
Iceland is slaying on the Swedish charts/streaming platforms and yet, they didn't get a single point from the juries and only a few televoting points.
Hardcore ESC fans =/= TV viewers =/= people using Spotify =/= televoters.
Also, the performances could have won people over and streaming behaviour could differ from the personal taste in music as well.
For example, I like to listen to uptempo songs more often on Spotify whilst I voted for France/Switzerland/Greece and even Israel in this year's Eurovision.

Is that really the story? So the reason Estonia had only 4 jury members counting was because poor Alika had expressed her opinion publicly before it was allowed.
298 televote points for a song that doesn't top a single chart. Not a single one. Meanwhile there are lots of other songs from this year Eurovision skyrocketing the charts. I repeat, nothing strange at all.
This happened in the Ukrainian jury too, from which Kateryna (from Go_A) was expelled because she shared a Katarsis story with a heart emoji. This is all so suspicious to me because other jury members who were not expelled, also expressed their support for certain participants (Melovin from the Ukrainian jury used Espresso Macchiato in his stories and ended up ranking the song second). So the reason Estonia had only 4 jury members counting was because poor Alika had expressed her opinion publicly before it was allowed.
Yep, aparently it's not ok to repost a contestant who likes your song, but it's ok to release a song with "I want to fly to Kyiv and go to Moscow, I wanna vote Kamala and also vote Trump" lyrics, and "We want peace, they want war" as the 1st line, right when T**mp started "peace talks" idea and Russia tried to portary Ukraine as a "warmonger"This happened in the Ukrainian jury too, from which Kateryna (from Go_A) was expelled because she shared a Katarsis story with a heart emoji. Yeah that song bothers me too. Actually everything Tommy and Joost do bothers me and I hope they and their friends will stop showing up at esc in the future. And if anyone should’ve been expelled from the jury it should’ve been Melovin anyway, not Kateryna (thanks for the extra info on her case btw). She didn’t launch a campaign to generate mass voting for Katarsis, she simply shared a nice story. I’m sure plenty of other jury members this year have done similar things (and worse).Yep, aparently it's not ok to repost a contestant who likes your song, but it's ok to release a song with "I want to fly to Kyiv and go to Moscow, I wanna vote Kamala and also vote Trump" lyrics, and "We want peace, they want war" as the 1st line, right when T**mp started "peace talks" idea and Russia tried to portary Ukraine as a "warmonger"![]()
But I'm happy they threw Melovin under the bus![]()
It's the only information i've seen about it, but it was published by kind of a gossip column so keep that in mind. I don't follow Alika, so i don't know what she shared exactly. My guess is it happened between the jury show and the finale, which is why they couldn't replace her.Is that really the story?
Snap became a worldwide success and it got only 21 televote points. There is not much relation between voting and commercial appeal.298 televote points for a song that doesn't top a single chart. The people who voted for Israel likewise did so because of the narrative as a Telenova survivor etc.

Baller is one of the few bright lights for me from this years contest. I won't be returning much to 2025 ESC in future years, but I will always take Baller with me and continue to love itI feel Baller will be the new Snap, it is such a smash hit
