A televote winner not being first in any streaming platform of any country that participated in Eurovision this year... Israel included. Yeah, nothing strange at all.

Iceland is slaying on the Swedish charts/streaming platforms and yet, they didn't get a single point from the juries and only a few televoting points.

Hardcore ESC fans =/= TV viewers =/= people using Spotify =/= televoters.

Also, the performances could have won people over and streaming behaviour could differ from the personal taste in music as well.
For example, I like to listen to uptempo songs more often on Spotify whilst I voted for France/Switzerland/Greece and even Israel in this year's Eurovision.

Girl, I love your takes most of the time, but are we really pretending that the Israeli televote score wasn't a result of right-wing/zionist propaganda and advertisement?

That song had it been sent by Malta or idk Montenegro, wouldn't have scored more than 40 points in the semi.

298 televote points for a song that doesn't top a single chart. Not a single one. Meanwhile there are lots of other songs from this year Eurovision skyrocketing the charts. I repeat, nothing strange at all.

So the reason Estonia had only 4 jury members counting was because poor Alika had expressed her opinion publicly before it was allowed.
This happened in the Ukrainian jury too, from which Kateryna (from Go_A) was expelled because she shared a Katarsis story with a heart emoji. This is all so suspicious to me because other jury members who were not expelled, also expressed their support for certain participants (Melovin from the Ukrainian jury used Espresso Macchiato in his stories and ended up ranking the song second).

Kate from Go_A was excluded from our jury, because she reposted (in her Insta story) Ukrainian article where Katarsis said that Shum is their fave song.
The EBU said it was support of Katarsis and demanded to change the juror, which we did.

Yep, aparently it's not ok to repost a contestant who likes your song, but it's ok to release a song with "I want to fly to Kyiv and go to Moscow, I wanna vote Kamala and also vote Trump" lyrics, and "We want peace, they want war" as the 1st line, right when T**mp started "peace talks" idea and Russia tried to portary Ukraine as a "warmonger"

But I'm happy they threw Melovin under the bus xgiggle

Yeah that song bothers me too. Actually everything Tommy and Joost do bothers me and I hope they and their friends will stop showing up at esc in the future. And if anyone should’ve been expelled from the jury it should’ve been Melovin anyway, not Kateryna (thanks for the extra info on her case btw). She didn’t launch a campaign to generate mass voting for Katarsis, she simply shared a nice story. I’m sure plenty of other jury members this year have done similar things (and worse).

Is that really the story?
It's the only information i've seen about it, but it was published by kind of a gossip column so keep that in mind. I don't follow Alika, so i don't know what she shared exactly. My guess is it happened between the jury show and the finale, which is why they couldn't replace her.

Snap became a worldwide success and it got only 21 televote points. There is not much relation between voting and commercial appeal.
The people who voted for Israel likewise did so because of the narrative as a Telenova survivor etc.

This.

I've been posting that for some time as well.
Televoters aren't the same people as "music consuming people" - especially since they could be different age groups/target groups etc...

We shouldn't forget that neither Olly Murs, Adam Lambert nor One Direction won their talent shows. - and they got a more successful career and hits on the charts than the "actual winners".

Also, people voted (emotionally) based on a live performance in Eurovision. Now, different people (a part of the viewers) stream songs whilst being in a different head pace/state of mind...not seeing the performance/in different settings.

I voted for Switzerland and France, too... but I think I listened to Finland/Malta and even Norway many times more on Spotify due to these tracks being fun whilst doing doing chores around the house.

Seeing other songs being high(er) on Spotify in certain countries isn't "proof" for anything.
Otherwise, we have to cancel 2022 as well when "Snap" didn't win.

I feel Baller will be the new Snap, it is such a smash hit
Baller is one of the few bright lights for me from this years contest. I won't be returning much to 2025 ESC in future years, but I will always take Baller with me and continue to love it hred

I may be an exception, but I am way more closer to this years class than last year.
Baller, Hallucination, Zjerm, Ich Komme, Tavo, Voyage, Bird of Pray, Deslocado, Asteromata (my biggest grower from pre season to the real show), Bur Man Laimi... It was a good edition after all. Except Israel and their shit, we had a good show like old times.
