So I kind of poached this idea from another site. :p and its not a game so I put it here.

Its just a bit off fun to see what you would do, but basically you have been asked set up eurovision in your country so you have to pick a Host city/venue, Presenter(s), Slogan, Theme, Postcards, Interval acts. But keep in mind the 60th anniversary.

Host City- Manchester
Venue- Phones 4u Arena
Presenters- Semifinals: Claudia Winkleman & Graham Norton / Finals: Claudia Winkleman & Graham Norton (Holly Willoughby in green room)
Slogan- Living A Dream (I'm not that good at this sort of stuff, but the idea comes from performing on eurovision being "a dream come true" to a lot of singers)
Theme- Starts with a child dreaming, that turns to a star shooting across the skies of all the cities that have hosted eurovsion, concluding above the Phones 4u arena as it bursts into fireworks. To show the country between each song and after postcards a star shoots across the screen sparkling the countries flag colours (showing the country/artist name, song title, M/L etc after).
Postcards- A clip showing the most successful song that the country has sent, but not necessarily the one scoring most points but the one which is best remembered. the song is performed by the current artist in public in front of an audience who cheer them on.
Interval acts- Semifinals: A comedy sketch mocking the British view on eurovision. / Finals: (kind of stealing idea from Azerbaijan) a medley of the most successful and memorable eurovision songs throughout history (selected via an online vote or something similar) and Molly singing her song that won the contest and possibly a new single.

Notes: Other venues would include millennium stadium in Cardiff and Odyssey arena in Belfast.

Aw yay :D I'll give it a try for :de: (haha like if we have a chance of winning)

Host city I'd love to see ESC back in my own dear Munich of course, but it'd be better to see a city which has never hosted yet... Berlin? It's finally about time! xcheer

Venue I'm not familiar with Berlin at all, but wasn't the possibility of setting up a giant tent at the former Tempelhof Airport mentioned once? It'd be located quite centrally, the only problem would of course be the costs and stability of the tent. Something new and original, I'd like to see it.

Presenters It might sound a bit uncreative, but I soooo want Anke Engelke again xbow Probably also Barbara Schöneberger, who presented our NF this year. And Thomas Gottschalk please!

Slogan United for the future (yes I suck at this)

Theme It'd be basically based off some coloured ribbons (probably also representing the flags' colours) which combine together into braids and stuff

Too lazy to finish it right now, the rest will follow later :D

I'll try it for Switzerland...

Host city:
Geneva

Venue:
SEG Arena or Stade de Genève

Presenters:
Paolo Meneguzzi, Anna Rossinelli and Sven Epiney (semis and finals)

Slogan:
Welcome Home

Theme:
The idea behind the theme is that the concept of the ESC was born in Geneva (where the EBU is based) and the first contest was held in Switzerland, so the 60th contest is a way of bringing Europe and the world full circle together back to where it all began

Postcards:
It would be kind of like the Malmo postcards with each artist in their own country to keep with the theme of "welcome home". The music for each postcard would be either a mash-up of the country's songs throughout the years or one of the country's best-known ESC songs

Intervals:
Semi 1: Swiss Favorites (Medley of Swiss ESC entries)
Semi 2: Celebration (Dance piece set to a contest remix)
Final: Together We're One (ESC song medley chosen by the people of Europe performed by both Swiss and international ESC artists past and present)

I'm gonna try this:

Host City: Berlin :de:

Venue: 02-World
Capacity: ~15 000

Presenters: - Anke Engelke & Barbara Schöneberger as "Main-Hosts"
- Hape Kerkeling as "Green-Room-Host"

Slogan: New horizons
Visuals: -Warm and soft colors like yellow, orange & gold.
background.jpg

- The flags in shape of a star ... kind of...this ...this should also be the eyecatcher.
black-rainbow-backgroundscolour---rainbow-star-with-black-background-hd-wallpapers-fa1euh4v.jpg

Intro/Opening-act: A little travel trough the solar-system with the most famous eurovision-moments ... songs, jokes and so on to be heard in the background (this happens trough the whole intro). Then we can see the earth... the camera zooms towards Europe and then towards Lugano. The camera is moving fast trough the streets of the city till it suddenly stops. We can see Lyss Asia who then says "Good evening Europe" ... the camera moves fast trough the landmarks until it reaches the next country. There will be a stop at every country which ever took part in eurovision and there will always be a "eurovision-personality" which bids us welcome in their native language. At long last we arrive in Berlin. After a fast tour trough the city we can see Lena (Winner 2010) and Nicole (Winner 1982) walking towards the O2 World. The camera enters the dark arena together with the two woman who start to sing a new arranged version of the "eurovision-hymn" mixed with previous winner songs while the crowd starts to cheer. Trough the song more and more previous winners join them. Those who aren't alive any more are shown on big screens, so we have all winners on stage with the participants of the 2015 edition joining them in the end... kind of. (I know it's a bit cheesy but it's a perfect link between present and past)

Postcards: The contestants are shown in their capital (similar to those of Malmö 2013) but at some point they all meet a former participant and they do some normal stuff together... singing, drinking coffee or something like that.
In the end The star which is shown above appears in the colors of the country.

I have to admit I have no clue about interval acts yet :D

I think if it were in the UK, the slogan should be something like "Keep Calm and Sing On" or "Keep Calm and Love Eurovision"

Excellent idea for a thread, here's :ie: 2015!

Host City-Stradbally, Co.Laois
Venue-Stradbally Estate, home of the Electric Picnic festival
Presenters-Emma O'Driscoll and Chris O'Dowd. Jennifer Maguire for Green Room Host.
Slogan-Sing your inner song!
Theme-Basically for 2015, the contest will be a festival. So the theme will start up with a grassy field early in the morning with a flower opening up, the flower will bloom into one tent, with other tents and stages blooming up like flowers or from trees. People will start arriving and there will be shots of crowds at the different tents and stages, dancing away like crazy at one stage, swaying to the rhythm at another stage, then time moves into around 20:00 GMT, the time the contest starts, the Sun will be just starting to set, and everyone makes their way to the main stage, where Emma and Chris will be there and start the shows.
Postcards-What I'm imagining is that there will be art displays all over the festival ground, as there are at Electric Picnic, but each display will represent each country. The postcard will show the artists posing around the displays, and then the fans gathering around the displays with flag and things. The little interlude between the postcard and the song will be an explosion of flowers, and the little label at the start of every song will be a flower with the flag in the centre and one very large petal with the information on it.
Interval Acts-For the first semi final, there'd be a massive Irish trad fusion percussion display, timed up with a firework display above the main stage. Then for the second semi final I'd have a medley of songs that didn't make it to the Eurovision, kind of like the OGAE Second Chance Contest, without the contest element. For the final, there'd be a karaoke medley of the songs in the final, with the lyrics put up across the festival site, and the audience being the performers.

My idea for the festival would be that it would last for Eurovision week. There's a map in the spoiler

Naturally there would be rehearsals as usual on the main stage, and press conferences and interviews over at the Mindfield. Then the Electric Arena, the Comedy Arena, Rankin's Wood Stage, Cosby Stage, the Salty Dog, and Trenchtown would be used during the two weeks. Filling those stages would be past artists, artists that didn't make it through the NFs, and past artists that didn't make it past the NFs. Then during the live shows, the other stages would be fitted with giant screens where people who weren't able to make it to the live show at the Main Stage could watch it and still have the festival/live show atmosphere. Euroclub would be over at the Red Bull Electric Gardens, which is basically a rave in a forest. For those that wouldn't want to camp, naturally there would be hotels in Stradbally and Dublin available and buses on the hour and after the show. I think it'd bring a much much larger crowd to the Eurovision than usual, as people could just come to one day and walk around and see what they wanted. Electric Picnic sold out to 35k people last year, there could be loads more than that for Eurovision.

That'd be horrible.

My suggestion is something less nationalistic... not to mention that Keep Calm and X puts me in a murderous rage

Murderous rage. Happy I don't live near you then. :D

That actually sounds amazing. I really hope something like that happens in the near future. However I would rather have Kathryn Thomas and Eoghan McDermott as the hosts.

A festival venue for Eurovision is a fantastic idea. I hope the UK use this idea if we win this year. It's such a homage to British music festival culture and would fit in with how popular they are at the moment. Recreating Glastonbury and having it in a field. I can imagine it would cost a lot but it would solve searching for a venue.

:pl:
Host City: Warsaw of course xqueenbitch
Venue: National Stadium with its capacity of approximately 70 000. That would be a biiiiiiiiiiiig ESC. xbow
Presenters: I'd say Maciej Dowbor and Magda Mołek - good looking people, both speak good English. They would follow the more "glamourous" style (oh, and of course Edyta Górniak announcing the results of the Polish televoting ;) ).
Slogan: Happy Birthday ESC  (or just 'Happy Birthday')
Interval Acts: for the semis something more Polish, I don't know exactly what. For the final something connected with ESC, I like GermanBango's idea. ;)

I don't have ideas for the rest.

Please no!

Kathryn Thomas is bloomin everywhere, she's got Irish tv presenting in a strangle hold.

Eoghan is a bit much, maybe he'd be ok hidden in the green room but I don't think I could stick him for the whole show.

You certainly have a point about Kathryn but I quite like here so I don't mind.

I don't care what Eoghan does I just like looking at him. :D

If we're going to choose our hosts from the Voice then can we at least pick Bressie rather than Eoghan? Much better looking!!
