CARLA - JOUÉ

Dwyforland enters WLSC for the first time in August 2024, represented by French singer Carla with her song "Joué". Carla formerly competed in the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Bim Bam Toi" - for which the official music video is the most-watched Junior Eurovision-related video on YouTube. Since competing in JESC Carla has released 2 albums titled "L'autre Moi" and "Sans Filtre". Carla has also been the spokesperson for the French jury result at the Eurovision Song Contest, has co-hosted the 2021 JESC and participated in "Danse Avec Les Stars".

"Joué" is an emotional ballad about a difficult ending to a relationship, with the struggles of moving on and having regrets. Carla conveys the story of the song in the moving music video for the song, which is linked below.

The group write and produce their work, creating stunning vocal melodies and songs that will be stuck in your head for days. The talented and energetic group of friends who make up the band are Lauren, Jade and Miranda. They each developed their talents whilst seeking solo careers, but found their path forward in the music industry by forming the band Blusher. TRAPT - PRIDE

American rock band Trapt will be the next representatives of Dwyforland at WLSC. The band formed in California in 1995 and have gone on to release 9 studio albums to date. Their biggest hit was their debut single Headstrong back in 2002. Two original members of the band are still performing with Trapt, vocalist and guitarist Chris Taylor-Brown and bass guitarist Pete Charell. The other current band members are Shawn Sonnenschein, lead guitar, and Mitch Moore, drums. This song was selected for it's empowering lyrics, particularly throughout the chorus, as a good way to follow up our successful hosting of the previous contest - here are the lyrics to the chorus and also the full song linked below:

Don't be sorry for who you are
Stand tall for what you know is right
You know you've got to have pride
Don't apologize at all
You don't ever have to hide

You know you've got to have pride
