I have an idea maybe in the future we will see a ESC contestant sing one song in his/her semifinal and sing another totally different song if he/she is qualified for the Final?

Really a little bored to watch lots of repeated performances in Grand Final...

I'd rather like to have a different coregraphy/effects etc for the grand final performance. Singing a different song doesn't make any sense, since they qualify because of the semi-final song. That would be a mess in ESC

Since ESC should be a competition of compositions in the original sense, it wouldn´t make any sense.

You are not watching the same performance for one month. It's just two nights. I don't think performing totally the same thing is that boring.

First, they sing one song in the semi final, then another in the final. Then the viewers pick their favorite among both songs from all qualified artists. Then there is a runoff vote between the two most famous artists with their more popular song. Then then winner declines.
Oh, wait...

Don't give Bjorkman and his buddies more crazy ideas

That would be odd to have different songs for semis and the final. Essentially, this set up would make it seem that you're voting for the singer and their capability to perform a song rather than the song that they are singing. ESC is a song contest and not a singing contest after all.

No. We see the same performance two (or three in case of winning) times, not a million times... plus most of the viewers only see the final and if I was one of them I would want to see the song they qualified with, not a random song nobody has heard before

Do it like me: don't follow the forum too closely, don't listen to the songs in advance, don't Watch any interview, showcase or rehearsal and wait for the actual shows to start... You'll realize that watching similar performances two times is not too much :D

It takes a little bit of tenacity :D Actually, I do read the threads of the forum during the whole entry selection period but I don't listen to the songs and I don't Watch anything to spoil me. So when the show starts, I have the opinions of everyone in my head as if I knew everything already, but I discover the songs at the same time, so it feel fresh :) It's painful when there's like a few weeks left, but it's rewarding because I don't suffer from PED.
