Those 50/50 results seem off....how in the world can an entry go from 4th and 8th in televotes to 14th and 17th overall  even if they got 0 from juries (which I feel is extremely unlikely, especially for those songs) I feel like it's not mathematically probable for them to finish so low..

I don't know if those results are real but they are quite interesting. Latvia, for example was on 16th place in the official voting, here Latvia is on 8th place! I must say that I watch Eurovision since our comeback in 2011, so I didn't know the Latvian song from 2007 and now I just watched it - why the hell did they send a song in Italian??

They did reveal the 50/50 results (probably based on the method used from 2009-2012) for the final on a press conference prior to the 2008 contest.

01. Serbia
02. Russia
03. Hungary
04. Ukraine
05. Belarus
06. Germany
07. Greece
08. Latvia
09. Georgia
10. Bulgaria
11. Moldova
12. Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
13. Bosnia and Herzegovina
14. Turkey
15. Sweden
16. Slovenia
17. Armenia
18. Finland
19. Spain
20. Romania
21. France
22. Lithuania
23. United Kingdom
24. Ireland
Hi!

Got back into the Eurovision old result rabbit hole and therefore again visited the thread about the 2007 split result where you mentioned the press conference that revealed these points, and yes I'm aware that was 8 years ago at this point. However I'm still very curious if you somehow can back up that claim that those were the official 50/50 results that were announced, cause everything else about it specifically leads back to that thread. I do trust you about it, I just feel the need to somehow find some backing that I can add those to my data base and be sure that they are accurate. Any help in this would be super appreciated ^^

Best regards,
Astrid

You're right!
I forgot how messy and unfair that 2013 to 2015 system was!
I Still feel.sk bad about how the favourites by televoting like Poland 2014 or Montenegro 2013 or Switzerland 2013 were treated.
