Listen I like Go Jo, his vibe and I found him very sexy lmao and probably was delusional in thinking he was a competitive package when the signs were there from the whole time he was always going to flop. He was already middle to lower end of the results on the odds and his pre performances were not good. There was no buzz from his rehearsals either. The fact that we are nearly qualifying with acts that don't have the same expensive staging or have the extensive experience in the industry of acts like Dami, Guy, Jess etc actually gives me some hope we do have a future in the contest. But SBS really need to be smart here and go with a label, or get an act with extensive appearance like a Paulini, Ricki Lee or Anthony Callea and get them with DNA and encourage them to sign with a major for the contest if we want to be competitive in this contest. For example if they just send Sheppard next year and leave them up to their own resources we will just be repeating the same mistakes. I don't think the Australian Delegation should use Voyagers success as an example, they had the best slot in their semi and also had the buzz of potentially being Australia's last act at Eurovision.11th place in a semi is still bad… like especially considering where Australia was before in Eurovision lol
Here's the text of what Mark Carney said in his tweet (he and Anthony Albanese met at the inaugural mass in Rome for Pope Leo XIV):
Doubt so, it had even more male uptempo entries. Seriously, the vocals were completely off and the performance looked stiff and forced, trying to be funny with ugly on-screen graphics like something from a 90s MTV afternoon filler show. The giant blender, backgrounds and outfits were actually pretty good, but all the other random props and silly gestures toward the camera ruined it.He would’ve qualified from the first semi imho.
