If Armenia wins the contest (which is very likely), do you think Azerbaijan will pull out of the 2015 contest?

Azerbaijani team would probably have no problems if they went to Armenia, but I would imagine the withdrawing as a statement against them hosting it.

Yeah I think they will, they wouldn't want to give up a year of Eurovision (I understand it's more or less a national holiday in Azerbaijan LOL) for the sake of it being held in an old foe's territory

There is no way Azerbaijan will leave.
Azerbaijan will never jump out just because of Armenia, it will only trigger them.
They are going to spend as much money as they can on their show, invite the worlds most famous songwriters to make a song and just try to get the contest back to Baku.

Then again I don't think Armenia will win.

No, I think they would withdraw.

If they couldn't even host the Armenian delegation in 2012, I guess they wouldn't stand an edition held in this country.

Something tells me that (as others have also mentioned) Azerbaijan would literally throw every last dime they have and go there to take the contest back. I don't think they'd cower.

I hope if Armenia win that we see some of this going on in 2015 xyes because it's horrible having two countries that hate each other SO much in the contest.

Try and win it? So when they come back on stage everyone in the audience will heavily boo them? I don't think that will happen. I think they will withdraw and make a huge issue over it.

If the Armenian broadcaster gets to decide the draw, I can imagine the worst possible starting positions for Azerbaijan.

I don´t think, that Armenia will win this year...
But if they win, I think, that Azerbaijan would participate and try to bring the contest back to Baku.

I can't see DR giving Armenia a favorable draw for the final if it qualifies. As for Azerbaijan, I can probably see them pulling out if 2015 does come to Yerevan more than likely to even the score for Armenia not being there in Baku

Why do you think they wont give them a favourable draw?

In 2012, Armenia withdrew as well, didn't they? Therefore I can indeed imagine Azerbaijan withdrawing from the contest in Yerevan... although many users here have already given a good counter-reason. The Azeris would just put all the effort into winning it again (like every year).

Thus, I'm a bit torn between both options in the poll. Voted no anyway.

The thread title is a tiny bit vague though.

Azerbaijan are too proud to withdraw and it seems to me that Armenia is the more open of the two so I see no reason they should withdraw.

They would withdraw because their government discourages peacefulness and civility with Armenians in all arenas, and has proven itself incapable of handling Armenia's presence in Eurovision with the proper civility. It actively harasses members of civil society, and overtly activists in each other's countries. A journalist for Radio Liberty in Azerbaijan was arrested for "spying for Armenia" even though all he did was attend a few conference in Yerevan and established a working relationship with another Western-oriented and like-minded journalist in Armenia. There is no way a country like this will pay for a singer to go and "entertain" a bunch of Armenians and put on a show for them in their own country. It's a matter of pride.

Azerbaijan will not attend, 100%, just to make a statement that there will be no peace with the "enemy".
