Dear FSC-members,
We have for some time asked members/juries how they wish FSC to become even better and more fulfilling and based on the response and suggestions from members we have considered options.
Members have said they want FSC to become even more exciting, even more competitive and that they feel the competition aspect of our contest only feels present, “real”, in the last few days of the contest before the final results are presented.
We listen to our members and have therefore come up with a new system called Re-Entry Qualification System or REQS for short.
This will be implemented to add to the competition factor of the contest, to bring more excitement and thrills and also necessary risk since the system means the 3 bottom countries will be relegated from FSC for a period of time. And so it is even more important to send competitive entries to the contest to ensure one stays in, which will also increase the quality of entries submitted.
The REQS will work as follows:
1. The bottom 3 countries of a FSC-edition are relegated to REQS
2. The third-last and second-last countries return to FSC after 1 month
3. The last (bottom) country returns to FSC after 2 months
4. This system is repeated for the next FSC-edition etc
Relegated countries are allowed - and encouraged - to vote in the editions they do not take part due to the REQS.
This is an exciting and innovative addition to FSC that we think will enliven the contest, bring more competitiveness during the whole month, increased awareness of songs, and will motivate members to put effort into their entries and enjoy the friendly - and increased - competition.
We want to thank our members for their input and hope these additions will enrich our wonderful contest. The REQS addition to FSC will take effect from the FSC May 2025 edition onwards.
The FSC Rules will be updated accordingly.
