They are here to stay!! The head of their delegation claimed that, so don't worry. Besides, the second place was a big surprise and more people realised what Eurovision is...
IMO, they should ask record companies and make a national final. OR ask Natalie from X Factor!! by choosing an artist from a talent show, they have bigger chances to get impressive tv ratings.
Even Raphael said that he doesn't believe in this competition... I think Italy has come back just to have something to do in their spare time. Anyway, I don't think they would withdraw again, at least for a couple of years :P
If Italy can find an artist who can really revive the national interest in the contest like what Blue did for the UK this year, they'll be back forever

IMHO, Rai will stay for almost 2-3 years more, because they want to become again "friends" of other national televisions!
And, come on, a cultural minister which talks about Eurovision... I've NEVER seen a minister talking about a music programme!

Italy will take part next year but if they'll fail to be at top 3 or 5 then they'll withdraw. Just me thinking
